WELCOME
FOCUS HEALTH GROUP, LLC is a nationally-recognized firm, specializing in the community health center/Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) arena. We also assist organizations in the further development of applications achieving section 330 FQHC and/or FQHC Look-Alike provider status. Hospitals may be analyzing their ambulatory care services, outpatient department, or clinics relative to a myriad of issues, notwithstanding cost and subsidy issues. As a result, hospitals may want to analyze several alternatives including collaboration with an existing FQHC under that organization’s governance (Change in Scope-CIS). Other alternatives under consideration may include but are not be limited to independent, freestanding FQHC or FQHC Look-Alike or remain status quo. Our firm has extensive experience and expertise in FQHC development issues involving hospitals/health systems, FQHCs, community agencies, government entities, physician groups, foundations, and Rural Health Centers in multiple states. Our projects in this arena include comprehensive community needs assessments and environmental scans, feasibility studies and proformos, due diligence, and startup operations.
Clearly, FQHCs are in the forefront of healthcare reform and will play a pivotal role in healthcare as our nation moves forward with revamping the healthcare delivery and financing system. FQHC providers are integral to the future change. National healthcare reform is, in fact, a reality. FOCUS provides technical assistance so that organizations can go to the “next step” and become an FQHC. We would like the opportunity to explain how FOCUS can assist your organization in becoming an FQHC and to provide expert technical assistance towards that end.
School-Based Health Centers (SBHC) play an important role in overcoming health disparities for low-income students due to accessibility to services and reducing barriers to student learning. Teachers and primary care and behavioral health providers work collaboratively to integrate the two disciplines and to identify school-age children at risk, the latter which is accomplished thru screening and assessment. Students and their families rely on SBHCs to meet their needs for a full range of age-appropriate health care services, including:
Healthy children make better students and better students make healthier communities. FOCUS LLC, recognizes that the many deterrents to learning (poverty, poor health, uninsured and underinsured, exposure to violence, ethnic/racial minority and learning disabilities) must be counteracted by protective factors in order to produce resilience and healthy children ready to learn.

FOCUS HEALTH GROUP, LLC works with front line healthcare providers, public entities, school boards, and other organizations relative to the opioid epidemic facing our great nation. We provide expert technical assistance, which is geared to primary care (PC), mental health (MH), substance use disorder (SUD), and opioid use disorder (OUD) – all of which have life-long costly effects on the entire healthcare delivery system and those involved: patients, families, providers, communities, and employers.
The overflow of prescription drugs is problematic and despite the ubiquitous stigma surrounding drug addiction, the opioid crisis touches people with stable lives, jobs, families and workplaces. No demographic is unaffected because opioid addiction doesn’t typically originate on the streets or with recreational use. It often begins in the physician’s office. We work with providers such as FQHCs to integrate MH/SUD/OUD services with PC with a specific focus on treatment, prevention, and awareness of OUD.
FOCUS HEALTH GROUP, LLC has successfully worked with healthcare organizations that have started telemedicine programs, performing the comprehensive needs assessments, financial viability analysis, and strategic planning to develop the program, and developing, preparing and submitting their RUS DLT grant application to the USDA on their behalf. There are great opportunities to get equipment funded for telemedicine programs in line with the purpose of the RUS DLT grant program, which is to deliver clinical provision of medical care and/or education/training between rural end user sites via telecommunications from generally, urban hub sites. Eligible projects can receive RUS DLT funding for equipment including, but not limited to, the following: computer hardware and software, audio and video equipment, computer network components, telecommunications terminal equipment, and interactive audio/video equipment. FOCUS, LLC works closely with nationally-recognized hardware, software, and technical assistance telemedicine contractors to make telemedicine programs work for our clients.
Based on our grant writing skills and successful endeavors, through grants from various private and public agencies and the federal government and provision to special population groups, i.e., HIV/AIDS, incarcerated populations and low-income and special populations, FOCUS, LLC works through the process of program and service development from conception through startup operations
